Mother’s day

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything primarily due to being focused on other things. Things like working too much, working on the house and of course taking care of and spending time with Maia.

The weather lately has been extremely rainy which means little to no opportunity to work out and/or work on on the house. Last weekend, Ezra and I dug the area where the patio will go, and now it is a pool of rainwater and muddy clay.

This weekend of course was mother’s day. Saturday Sydney, Maia and I went to visit Dede, brought her some coffee and listened to her tell us stories. As always it was great to spend time with her and she was amazed to see how big Maia is. Of course we have pictures of the occasion which I will post later tonight.

Sunday, we went to Pam’s house for the afternoon for brunch prior to the Mother’s Day show at the Cafe Carpe. Kai and Satchel Welch (Syd’s Cousins) came home for the weekend from Nashevillle, TN. It is the first time since they’ve to play since they left to hit it big in Nasheville. It was a great show (of course) and was fun as Syd and I haven’t been out to Fort Atkinson since before Maia was born.

Despite all of the craziness of the atmosphere, Maia did really well and of course was a big hit with everyone. Hopefully she didn’t steal the show away from the guys too much - she has a tendency to do so. You can see pictures of the show in the gallery.

Now the week is going again and we start counting the time till we can play w/ our friends again on the weekend…

A group of students from Oklahoma State University sent a Pentax DSLR to 104,000 ft via a sounding balloon and took pictures along the way. This pic is from the peak of the flight - look at their entire project’s pictures - it’s amazing.

Not yet

By the way, since everyone is waiting with baited breath,
No we don’t have a new baby yet, and yes we’ll make sure to let everyone know when we do.

Texas to Tel Aviv

The below article from the New Yort Times was posted on JimBurkee.com (running for 5th District of the US House) this evening and all I can say in response is ‘Hell yeah.’
I agree with everything written in this article.  There is no debate about global warming but as there is a realization that our problem [...]
