I know you shouldn’t compare one child to another because everyone is different but I’m going to anyway. We just had Tarek’s two month appointment and we here are his stats compared to Maia’s. The most important part is that he is healthy.
What I find interesting is the differences in actual stats and the similarities in percentile and vice versa. I’ll continue to provide these comparisons moving forward for the sake of science.

Taken on Saturday evening, Tarek is one day old and Maia is almost two and a half. You don’t care how old Syd and I are.
Maia has been amazing with Tarek. She is very excited to have him in the world and treats him very well. She is always anxious to help us take care of him and LOVES holding him. We are blessed.

- she’d be a keeper. As a little girl we’ll still keep her : ) After going to Maia’s two-year check-up on Tuesday here are her latest stats for those who might be interested. In parentheses are her measurements from her 18 month checkup. Of course these measurements are VERY un-scientific as the human variable is very large.
Weight: 32 lbs. 14 oz. - upper 95% (29 lbs. 6.5 oz - upper 95%)
Length: 34 3/4 in. - 75% (31 3/4 in. - upper 50%)
Head Circumference: 48 3/8 cm. - 75% (48 cm - lower 90%)
Thankfully she didn’t get any shots even though I had already practiced how I was going to explain to Maia how the shots would hurt, but it was important. Truthfully the explaination before the shots didn’t worry me as much as trying to explain the reason for the pain afterwards.
The doctor confirmed that her speaking was advanced for her age, but also commented that her first child did the same thing while her second didn’t speak till he was two.
Maia doesn’t have to go back to the doctor again till three although Syd and I will see her in July/August when she comes to check on Maia’s sibling.

A group of students from Oklahoma State University sent a Pentax DSLR to 104,000 ft via a sounding balloon and took pictures along the way. This pic is from the peak of the flight - look at their entire project’s pictures - it’s amazing.
By the way, since everyone is waiting with baited breath,
No we don’t have a new baby yet, and yes we’ll make sure to let everyone know when we do.
The below article from the New Yort Times was posted on JimBurkee.com (running for 5th District of the US House) this evening and all I can say in response is ‘Hell yeah.’
I agree with everything written in this article. There is no debate about global warming but as there is a realization that our problem [...]
