As many of you are aware, we are selling our house. This decision came after a lot of debate, discussion and research into converting to a single family - but that is a different story… Today was our first open house after having it listed for just over a week, I was cautious and pessimistic about my expectations, but was not prepared for what happened.
No one showed up.
That’s right absolutely positively noone. From the hours of 12-2 our relator watched the Packer game and entertained no one. This in itself isn’t that big of a deal the issue is really with all of the work that goes into preparing for an open house and doing that work for naught. If you’ve never gone through this experience, you clean and tidy up your house so that it is beautiful and uniquely common. That’s right, everything that makes the house uniquely yours is hidden away so that the people who walk in can imagine the house as theirs.
Next week we’ll have another open house and hopefully it’ll be a nicer day out and the Packers will play later in the day…

By the way, since everyone is waiting with baited breath,
No we don’t have a new baby yet, and yes we’ll make sure to let everyone know when we do.
The below article from the New Yort Times was posted on JimBurkee.com (running for 5th District of the US House) this evening and all I can say in response is ‘Hell yeah.’
I agree with everything written in this article. There is no debate about global warming but as there is a realization that our problem [...]
